Britannia Road culvert, west of Walkers Line - July to October 2026
The City of Burlington will be replacing two existing stormwater culverts on Walkers Line (south of Britannia Road) and Britannia Road (west of Walkers Line).
The City of Burlington has completed the culvert replacement work on Walkers Line and will be beginning work on the Britannia Road culvert (725 metres west of Walkers Line).
The Britannia Road culvert is planned for replacement in 2026. The structure is approaching the end of its service life and is recommended for replacement. The City will be replacing the existing rigid frame culvert with a concrete box culvert system.
During construction activities full road closures are anticipated. Signed detour routes will be installed ahead of construction and provide an alternative route around the construction area.

Road closures

Starting in July 2026, a full road closure will be installed on Britannia Road, west of Walkers Line to allow for construction of the proposed culvert. Vehicle traffic will be able to follow the designated detour route using Britannia Road, Guelph Line, and Derry Road. View the Britannia Road culvert proposed detour plan (PDF)
