On Oct. 1, Canada recognizes the contributions and value that all older adults make in our lives and community. In Burlington, we will be celebrating this day on Sept. 29, 2022.
It is a perfect day to let those Adults 55+ in your life know how much you care about them, respect them, and value all that they have done and continue to do to make your life and our community an enriching place to live and play in.
Whether they are a parent, co-worker, neighbour, or friend, older adults possess wisdom, experience, and knowledge that supports us personally and enhances our volunteer and work lives.
To celebrate, the City of Burlington is inviting adults 55+ to join us at various Recreation Centres where they will be able to enjoy free drop-in programs on Thursday, Sept. 29 and refreshments on us.
Programs include skating, swimming, games and more.
- Sticks and Pucks 55+, 10 to 11 a.m. on Sept. 29 at Appleby Rink #3
- Open Pickleball 19+ All Levels, 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. – Gym 7/8 Haber Community Centre
- Drop-in Snooker 55+, 12:45 to 4:45 p.m. – Snooker Area, Burlington Seniors’ Centre,
- Drop-in Badminton 19+ All Levels, 1 to 3 p.m. – Double Gym, Brant Hills Community Centre
- Drop-in Crochet Circle 55+, 1 to 3 p.m. – Community Room 4, Burlington Seniors’ Centre,
- Drop-in Bid Euchre 55+, 1:30 to 4 p.m. – Community Rooms 10 & 11, Burlington Seniors’ Centre
- Lap Swim 55+, 11 to noon at Centennial Pool
