NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City of Burlington intends to designate the above-noted property under section 29 of the Ontario Heritage Act.
Description of Property
977 Unsworth Ave. is located southeast of the intersection of Plains Road West and Unsworth Avenue in the Bayview neighbourhood of Burlington. It is occupied by a two-storey neo-Tudor house built in 1932; the Albert Unsworth House.

The Albert Unsworth House is a two-storey Tudor style house featuring rich detailing and high-quality materials. Built in 1932, it was designed by Hamilton architect Walter Scott and commissioned by Albert Unsworth, a pioneer in commercial greenhouse farming. Unsworth developed a unique tomato variety and supplied tomatoes for the King George VI’s train during his 1939 tour of Canada.
