Brynn Nheiley, Executive Director of Community Planning, Regulation and Mobility
“As we look forward to nicer weather, the community planning patio team is working to support our local businesses by turning around their patio permit applications as quickly as we can. As part of this initiative, it’s important to think about keeping everyone safe, from patio staff and patrons to pedestrians.
City staff are committed to working with our Burlington Downtown Business Association and any interested businesses on a case-by-case basis to consider how their outdoor patios can operate while maintaining public health and safety measures.”
Brian Dean, Executive Director, Burlington Downtown Business Association
"Burlington's small business community is excited to work with Burlington City Council and staff for a successful patio season downtown. The Burlington Downtown Business Association (BDBA) is investing in a new pedestrian infrastructure to help residents and tourists better navigate the outdoor dining experience.
This year will help the City and the BDBA transition to a more permanent patio program in the future. The BDBA is pleased to invest in this program and our hospitality sector. We believe that offering a better pedestrian experience this summer will cement our reputation as a dining hub for Halton Region."
