Burlington, Ont.— Sept. 13, 2023 —The City of Burlington is inviting residents and visitors to enjoy three weeks of free, interactive in-person or online events and activities during Culture Days. This year’s annual celebration is Sept. 22 to Oct. 15, 2023.
Burlington’s Culture Days features local arts and cultural professionals, creative organizations and businesses that host free events for the community. Culture Days is hosted by: the City of Burlington; independent Burlington artists; the Arts and Culture Council of Burlington; the Art Gallery of Burlington; the Burlington Performing Arts Centre; Burlington Public Library; Museums of Burlington; Tourism Burlington and Arts Burlington.
Installations and events
Sept. 22 to Oct. 15
The City of Burlington public art program has curated a temporary art project featuring the work of twenty local visual artists and writers. The temporary signs will be installed near Beachway Park.
Sept 22 to Oct. 8 - Art Gallery of Burlington (AGB), 1333 Lakeshore Rd.
The AGB has curated an exhibition forty works by forty artists representing each year in their forty-year history. The pieces, from 1983 to 2023, are a chronological timeline showing the growth of the AGB’s collection.
Sept. 23, noon to 4 p.m. - The Burlington Performing Arts Centre (BPAC), 440 Locust St.
The public is invited to visit local Performing Arts Organizations in the BPAC Lobby, including: Burlington Student Theatre; BSO; BNMO; Footnotes; Solo; Mattson & Company Dancers; Tottering Biped Theatre And BPAC’s ‘Live & Local’ with Emma Whale & Jesse Adams.
Sept. 28, 10 a.m.to 4 p.m. - Joseph Brant Museum, 1240 North Shore Blvd. E.
#APlacelCallHomeHalton is an innovative artwork that considers how we find our home in a time of abundant migration and societal instability. Due to war, economic precariousness and climate change, more and more people worldwide and within Canada are being forced to move. We invite you to participate with this interactive artwork and reflect on what "HOME" means to you.
Sept. 29, 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. - Burlington Seniors Centre, 2285 New St.
The Arts and Culture Council of Burlington (ACCOB) are hosting local artists and performers of all kinds to celebrate the diverse talents within Burlington’s arts and cultural community.
