Mid July to August 2023
The City of Burlington will be rehabilitating road surfaces in your area which are in poor condition. This project is an annual program to resurface asphalt roadways before further deterioration leads to a compromised underlying base and sub-base layers of the pavement structure which can lead to a more costly partial or full reconstruction of the roadway.
Roads identified in this program will have their asphalt surface removed and replaced which will extend their service life and delay more costly treatments. Also included will be isolated curb and sidewalk repairs/replacement where required.
Check this webpage for updates throughout the project. If you'd like to subscribe to be emailed a notification when the page is updated, please see the top right corner of this page.
The City of Burlington will be working in the following areas; please note the schedule is tentative, subject to inclement weather, and material supply delays. This schedule will be updated as the construction progresses through each area:

The following information may be helpful If you are concerned about a construction project in your neighbourhood.
| Parking |
|
During normal construction hours, Monday to Friday, 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., vehicle access to and from your property may be difficult. Driveways may be temporarily closed when work is being carried out in the immediate area. When your driveway is inaccessible or closed, please park on a neighbouring street, or where no construction is taking place. If your vehicle will be in contradiction to the below by-law, register your vehicle for the On-Street Parking Exemption Program on our Parking Exemptions page. How does a parking exemption work? It allows a vehicle to park on the street beyond the 5-hour limit or overnight between 1 a.m. to 6 a.m., up to 15 days per calendar year, per license plate. The only two parking offences waived AFTER a vehicle is registered for a parking exemption are:
All other parking offences apply as they are not part of the parking exemption program. |
| Garbage Pickup |
| Please continue to put your garbage and recycling out on the usual day. Should the normal pickup location of the garbage be within the road allowance. It is the contractor's responsibility to move your garbage to a location that can be easily picked up by the garbage truck and return your garbage containers. Otherwise please continue to place your garbage/recycling/organics as normal. |
| Access to Your Business/Workplace |
|
During normal construction hours, Monday to Friday, 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., vehicle access to and from your workplace/property may be difficult, and driveways may be temporarily closed when work is being carried out in the immediate area. If your business has multiple entrances, the construction work will be staged in a manner which allows access using at least one entrance at a time. Otherwise, alternative methods ie. Re-grading driveway entrances and/or using steel plates will be used to provide temporary access through the entrance for the duration of the work. The inspector or contractor will notify you of this before the closure. |
| Water Services |
| As with any project of this nature, there may be some disruptions to water services at times throughout the construction. You will be given a minimum of 48 hours notice before any scheduled water shut down. Thank you for your patience. |
| Lawn Irrigation System |
| If you have a lawn irrigation system, we recommend that you disconnect and remove any sprinkler heads within the city's road allowance. The city inspector will notify you if your system is affected. |
| Road Closures/Lane Restrictions |
| Lane restrictions and short-term road closures will be in place during construction. You will still have access to your business. Additional information will be provided during construction. |
| Driveway Restoration |
| Under the contract, asphalt driveways adjacent to new curb and sidewalk, or that contain water service shutoffs, will be restored from the limit of disturbance to the curb line at the roadway. |
Updates will be posted throughout the project.
