The City of Burlington will be resurfacing various roadways throughout the city. This work will include removing and replacing the top layer of asphalt pavement, spot curb replacement, and the updating of intersection sidewalk and pavement markings.
During this time, traffic will be restricted to local traffic only. Every effort will be made to keep disruptions to a minimum. For everyone’s safety, please exercise caution and obey all construction signage.

Information for homeowners
The following information may be helpful if you are concerned about a construction project in your neighbourhood.
| Utilities |
|
Disruption to your home internet or telephone service may occur. The City has flagged this concern with utility companies and our goal is to have internet disconnections repaired by the provider within 24 hours. The Contractor will typically contact the utility company, however, if you lose service, please inform your utility provider and the City of the interruption. Utilities such as Union Gas, Hydro and Bell Canada have already started to locate their existing infrastructure to prepare for this construction. Please do not remove these marker stakes or paint markings. Staff will return to remove them once the project is complete. |
| Accessing your property |
|
Lane closures and localized short-term road closures may be necessary to complete the proposed works. During normal construction hours, Monday to Friday, 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., vehicle access to and from your property may be difficult. Driveways will be temporarily closed when work is being conducted in the immediate area. You will be notified in advance, by either the City Inspector or the Contractor. |
| Parking |

When your driveway is inaccessible or closed, please park on a neighbouring street, or where no construction is taking place. If your vehicle will be in contradiction to the below by-law, register your vehicle for the On-Street Parking Exemption Program. How does a parking exemption work? It allows a vehicle to park on the street beyond the 5-hour limit or overnight between 1 a.m. to 6 a.m., up to 15 days per calendar year, per license plate. The only two parking offences waived AFTER a vehicle is registered for a parking exemption are:

Vibration |

You may at times experience some minor vibration from construction equipment. We recommend that you remove small light objects from shelving around the house. |
