The City of Burlington is one of four municipalities in Halton working to commission a multidisciplinary artist, artist team or artist collective to lead an interactive arts activity for Culture Days. Artists, artist teams, and collectives can submit their proposal to lead a participatory program, project or workshop. Proposals may include:

Artist Criteria |
This opportunity is open to individual Halton-based artists, artist teams and artist collectives living in Burlington, Oakville, Halton Hills, or Milton. Applicants must have community arts and community engagement experience and be 18 years of age or older to apply. The opportunity is not open to established not-for-profit groups and organizations. |
Project Compensation |
The commission for the project includes a $2,200 artist fee and up to $1,800 for material costs. Culture Days is an annual celebration of arts, culture and creativity that increases community access, provides hands-on participation and highlights the importance of arts and culture in our communities. Every year, free arts and cultural events are offered as part of the celebration, encouraging participants to create, share and celebrate arts and culture. |
The City of Burlington is also partnering with the Art Gallery of Burlington, the Burlington Performing Arts Centre, Burlington Public Library, Museums of Burlington and the Arts and Culture Council of Burlington to offer free community events as part of the Burlington Hub. Culture Days is a non-profit organization dedicated to building a national network of cultural connections to provide Canadians with opportunities to participate in, and appreciate, all forms of art and culture. Culture Days promotes free, interactive activities and events for the public. The festival welcomes participants to create, share and celebrate a life enriched by arts and culture.
