The City of Burlington encourages residents to enjoy fireworks safely by attending organized, licensed public displays conducted by trained professionals. These events are the safest way to experience fireworks, helping to reduce the risk of injury, fire, and property damage in our community.
The City permits the use of low-hazard consumer fireworks - often called “family” fireworks - but only under strict conditions, as they can still pose safety risks.
Noise complaints after 11 p.m. should be directed to the HRPS Non-Emergency Line at 905-825-4777.
Bylaw concerns can be reported to the City at 905-335-7777. Fireworks typically occur in short 10-minute bursts across different locations which makes real-time enforcement challenging. It is important to remember that bylaw enforcement officers are not emergency responders, do not respond to complaints on an emergency basis and do not have the authority to immediately stop large events. Community cooperation is essential to helping keep everyone safe during Victoria Day and Canada Day celebrations.
