Appleby Creek Erosion Control Environmental Assessment (EA) Study completed in 2020 identified channel erosion and slope destabilization within the Appleby Creek area from South Service Road to Lake Ontario. The EA recommended erosion reduction strategies to be completed in phases.
In the first phase, the City of Burlington will be doing Appleby Creek restoration works from upstream of Lakeshore Road to Lake Ontario for approximately 210m as shown in the image. The work will include bank protection, minor channel realignment, profile corrections for fish habitat improvements and provide protection to the Lakeshore Road bridge area.
As public engagement is an important part of the city projects. The City will give residents, neighbourhood businesses, community members and interested parties the chance to learn more about the project and comment at a Public Information Centre (PIC).
An Online Public Information Centre (PIC) will be hosted where the residents will have an opportunity to share input, concerns, and comments regarding the construction of the project.
