Port Nelson Parkette (3000 Lakeshore Rd.) will see more changes very soon. The shoreline protection work at Port Nelson Park is complete which means the project can move forward to Phase 2 design of the park space.

Metrolinx Burloak Drive Underpass

Construction Schedule• Ongoing to mid-2026Metrolinx Public Engagement

The Burloak Drive Grade Separation is a project to build an underpass to separate vehicle and rail movement. 

The underpass will enhance public safety in advance of GO Transit’s planned 15-minute all-day service on the Lakeshore West GO line, which will see up to eight trains crossing Burloak Drive every hour, in addition to regular VIA and freight trains. 

The addition of turn lanes, sidewalks, bike lanes and improved connectivity for active modes of travel will also be included in this project. 

Construction activities are underway and the project is estimated to be completed by mid-2026.

Havendale Boulevard Minor Reconstruction

The City of Burlington and Halton Region will be making improvements in the Havendale Boulevard area between 2024 and 2025. Halton Region will be replacing the existing watermain and water services. The City will be replacing the roadway asphalt, replacing isolated areas of curb and sidewalk, performing minor storm sewer repairs, and installing streetlighting upgrades.
