Ireland Park Lighting Improvements

Construction Schedule

January to May 2024

The City of Burlington is installing new light posts within Ireland Park (2315 Headon Forest Dr.) to light the tennis courts and basketball court. This work is expected to happen in Spring/Summer 2024. 

The proposed improvements include:

• Installation of four new light posts and underground wiring to light the tennis courts
• Installation of two new light posts and underground wiring to light the basketball court

The park and parking lot will remain open during construction, however, there could be some minor inconveniences due to construction activity. Temporary disruptions and/or minor reductions in parking may be experienced for the contractor to safely complete the work.

Windows-to-the-Lake are small park settings along the shoreline, connecting Burlington residents to Lake Ontario. They are a place to meet, take a rest, observe nature, listen to the waves, watch weather move across the water, and enjoy the beauty of sunsets over the lake.

The City will be enhancing these connections to the water over the next two years.  Each site renewal will provide, at minimum, a paved pathway and accessible seating.

North Service Road and King Road Culvert Replacements

The City of Burlington will be addressing two stormwater culverts in need of replacement located near the intersection of the North Service Road and King Road.  The work will restore the stormwater drainage network along the Indian Creek tributary.

Lakeshore Road Resurfacing and Pine Cove Bridge Replacement

In order to facilitate the replacement of the Pine Cove Bridge, the road will be closed beginning July 04 to December 2023. Detour signage will be in place prior to road closure.

The City of Burlington will be continuing improvements on Lakeshore Road, from Walkers Line to Guelph Line. This will include the replacement of the Pine Cove Bridge, road resurfacing, multi-use pathway replacement, Tuck Creek culvert rehabilitation and streetlighting upgrades.

Tyandaga Park Dr. Area and Golf Course Parking Lot Minor Reconstruction

• March to November 2024

Project Location

The City of Burlington and Halton Region will be continuing improvements in the Tyandaga Park Drive area in 2023 and 2024. Halton Region will be replacing the existing watermain and services. City work includes the replacement of existing curb, sidewalk, roadway asphalt, street lighting upgrades, and the renewal of the Tyandaga Golf Course parking lot.
