Construction started in October 2020 and was complete in June 2021.
Colin Alton Parkette includes:
Playground Equipment Drawings
Fitness Equipment Drawings
Park Drawing
The City has partnered with Vineland Research and Innovation Centre to turn Colin Alton Parkette into a living science lab! Shrub beds and tree planting pits will receive two different soil preparation treatments. The health of the trees and shrubs in the park will be monitored over time so that comparisons between soil preparation types and plant success can be monitored and analyzed. These observations will contribute to continuing improvements to street tree planting methods and the success rates of future trees in the City.

In 2019, we invited you to complete an online survey to give us an idea of the features that you want for the new playground at Colin Alton Parkette. We received a tremendous response. This information was very helpful in designing the playground to respond to the unique needs and preferences of the community. In the winter of 2020, the City selected the vendor to build the playground at Colin Alton Parkette.
