Construction is complete
Leighland Park is open. Construction is complete and the park is now open for use.
Over the coming weeks, some minor work will occur in the park. Areas where work is being done will be secured. Thank you for your cooperation in ensuring that the park is a safe place for everyone to enjoy.
The improved park includes:
- Renewal of ball diamond D2 with added accessible spectator seating
- Tennis courts
- Pickleball courts
- Basketball/ball hockey court
- Fitness loop with outdoor fitness equipment
- Leash-free area
- Multiple shade structures with seating
- Drinking fountain
- Site furniture
- Drainage improvements
- Trees

Neighbourhood engagement
In 2021 the community shared their input into what amenities they would like to see in Leighland Park through a survey on Get Involved Burlington. City staff used the input to design the park renewal plan.
In August 2022 residents were invited to chat with City staff and view the Leighland Park renewal plan at a neighbourhood event in the park.
