Fares
You can pay your Burlington Transit fare with a physical PRESTO card, a PRESTO card in Apple Wallet or Google Wallet, by tapping a contactless credit or debit card, or with cash.”. We offer free ride programs for children and adults aged 65-plus, a monthly PRESTO card loyalty program and a Ride BT and GO program for riders with a valid GO ticket or pass.
PRESTO
Use PRESTO to pay for your fare on Burlington Transit and ride across the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area. Conveniently pay using a physical PRESTO card, your PRESTO card in Apple Wallet or Google Wallet or using your debit or credit card.
Burlington Transit loyalty program
With our loyalty program, you can ride Burlington Transit for free after 40 full fare rides per calendar month with your PRESTO card, effective Jan. 1, 2024! This program applies to paying riders.

Did you know that you can take transit to travel beyond the City of Burlington? There are many options to connect from Burlington Transit to other public transit providers, including:
- Connections within Burlington
- Connections to Oakville and Hamilton with GO Transit and your PRESTO card or PRESTO contactless
- Connections to GO Transit trains and buses that travel to Hamilton, Brantford, Mississauga, Milton, the Niagara Region and Toronto
- Connections to VIA Rail trains that travel throughout Canada

Student passes
If you are a current McMaster University or Mohawk College or Redeemer University student with a valid student ID, you can purchase a monthly Burlington Transit add-on to your U-Pass! Your U-Pass add-on gives you access to Burlington Transit for the month and is loaded onto your PRESTO card.
Low-income passes
We offer a Subsidized Passes for Low-Income Transit (SPLIT) program, which provides free monthly transit passes for Burlington residents who meet the low-income level.
Single-ride vouchers for non-profit groups and agencies
We provide a Single-Ride Voucher program for non-profit groups and agencies who offer transportation to their clients at no cost.
