


The City of Burlington and the Region of Halton are completing a Minor Reconstruction Project in the Prospect Street Area starting in the winter of 2024 and finishing in December 2026. The City and the Region have split the Prospect Street Area project into two phases, which shall be detailed below.
Phase One of the Prospect Street Area Minor Reconstruction Project was awarded to KAPP Infrastructure Inc in October 2024. Construction started on Phase One of the Prospect Street project in December 2024 with watermain installation from Guelph Line to Cumberland Ave.
The underground construction continued on Prospect Street from Ashley Avenue to Guelph Line in 2025 and was fully completed by November 2025.
In 2026, the City of Burlington and the Region of Halton will be completing surface restoration works on Prospect Street from Ashley Avenue to Cumberland Avenue as well as completing resurfacing work on Dynes Road from Prospect Street to New Street, and the full length of Regency Court.

Phase Two of the Prospect Street Area Minor Reconstruction Project was awarded to Amico Infrastructures Inc. in March 2025.
Construction of the 2nd Phase of the Prospect Street Project began in June 2025, with watermain and waste watermain being installed from George Street to Brant Street. The majority of the underground construction work on Prospect Street and Grahams Lane was completed by December 2025.
In 2026, the City of Burlington and the Region of Halton will be completing the surface restoration of Prospect Street and Grahams Lane. In addition, we will be completing the reconstruction of Legion Road and the resurfacing of Maplewood Drive.

The following information may be helpful If you are concerned about a construction project in your neighbourhood.

| Parking |
|
During construction, the five-hour maximum limit for street parking will not apply when your driveway is inaccessible or closed. In this situation, please park on neighboring streets, where there is no construction. Please do not:

| Garbage pickup |
|
Please continue to put your garbage and recycling out on the usual day. It is the contractor's responsibility to move your garbage to a location that can be easily picked up by the garbage truck and return your garbage containers. To help the contractor return your bins to you, we ask that you write your house number on your garbage cans, recycling bins and green carts. |
| Access to your home |
|
During normal construction hours, Monday to Friday, 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., vehicle access to and from your property may be difficult, and driveways may be temporarily closed when work is being carried out in the immediate area. The inspector or contractor will notify you of this before the closure. |
| Vibration |
|
There may be times when you feel some minor vibrations from construction equipment. We recommend that you remove small, light objects from shelving around the house to prevent damage. |
| Lawn irrigation system |
|
If you have a lawn irrigation system, we recommend that you disconnect and remove any sprinkler heads within the city's road allowance. The city inspector will notify you if your system is affected. |
