The City of Burlington is renewing Emerson Park, located at 2390 Sutton Dr. This renewal is guided by the ‘Love My Playground’ survey input, that was gathered from local area residents, in 2021.
Construction is now complete and the park is open for use.

Project schedule
Construction is expected to begin, weather permitting, in late March and last approximately 8-10 weeks. (Please note: The completion date may be affected by weather, or by production and service delays in the construction industry.)
Project scope
Construction at Emerson Park will include:
- Replacement of playground equipment and swings
- Installation of engineered wood fibre surfacing
- Installation of new drainage system at playground areas
- New concrete transition curbs for accessibility into playground areas
- New line painting at existing basketball half court
To ensure safety during construction, the playground area and part of the existing parking lot will be closed and fenced off. Access to the existing parking lot, for public use, will be accommodated as much as possible, during construction. We appreciate your cooperation and patience during construction to ensure a safe environment for all.
