The City of Burlington’s Parks and Recreation Department is launching two major projects to coincide with the new Fall/Winter program registration.
Online Registration and Facility Booking System
The first project is the upgrade to a new online registration and facility booking system as of Aug. 1, 2018. The new system is mobile-friendly, user-friendly, secure and allows users to keep a credit card on file and view permits on a mobile device. These are convenient features for teams, groups or individuals who have rented an ice pad, a field or community room.
The new system is viewable now and will be for open bookings on Aug. 15 and registrations on Aug. 18. When inside the new system, users can easily view, select, register and pay for the program of their choice, much like any online shopping site.
Residents with an online account in the previous system will need a new login and password to access the new system. Anyone who needs help with the new system can call 905-335-7720, ext. 0, email liveandplay@burlington.ca or visit any of the customer service counters.
The new site can be found at liveandplay.burlington.ca.
Redesigned Website
The other major project is the redesign of the Parks and Recreation website. The redesign was done with improved customer service in mind to allow for easier search, selection and a better overall browsing experience.
As of Aug. 1, all programs, services and events offered by Parks and Recreation will be catalogued in one user-friendly location at burlington.ca/play. This includes everything from facility rentals, parks, recreation opportunities, events, swimming, skating, recreation fee assistance, Love My Hood and the Neighbourhood Community Matching Fund.
Fall/Winter Registrations
Starting on Aug. 18 at 9 a.m., registration opens for Youth Fall/Winter Live and Play programs.
Adults aged 19+ and 55+ can register for Fall Live and Play programs starting on Aug. 25 at 9 a.m. Registrations are accepted online at liveandplay.burlington.ca or in-person at any city facility.
The City of Burlington’s 2018/2019 Fall/Winter Live and Play Guide, featuring listings for recreation, sport and culture programs, will be available in facilities on Aug. 13, including recreation centres, Burlington Public Library branches and City Hall, as well as online Aug. 15 at burlington.ca/play.
The city offers a variety of registered and Drop-In programs for all ages and abilities.

Quotes
Tracie Legg, Acting Director of Parks and Recreation
“This is a very big and exciting time. The upgrade to our online registration and facility booking software greatly modernizes our system and offers many benefits to the user, which weren’t available previously. Combined with a new website and the launch of the Fall/Winter Live and Play Guide, this season will be a great one to get involved in recreation and leisure activities, sign up for a program or just get outdoors to play and enjoy life.”
